Armillaria is a genus of parasitic fungi that includes around 10 species commonly known as honey fungi. These fungi live on trees and woody shrubs, causing white rot and root disease, which often leads to the death of the host plant. They produce honey-colored mushrooms during autumn, which is how they earned their common name.
