Dysarthria is a neurologically caused speech disorder characterized by muscle weakness, slowness, incoordination, or abnormal tone or movement patterns in the speech muscles. This leads to difficulties with articulation, phonation, resonance, rate, and respiration during speech, resulting in impaired verbal communication. It can be caused by various medical conditions such as stroke, brain injuries, diseases that affect the nervous system, or certain medications.
