Where the Pagans worship the sun on the Solstices. Also where virgins crawled through the stones to see who they will marry. Has an 'alter stone' and a 'heel stone'
No one knows who built stonehenge or even exactly when.
Spinal Tap (see [This is spinal tap] have a song about stonehenge and wanted a lifesize statue of a stonehenge stone 2 add atmoshphere to the show...but Nigel got the measurements wrong and instead of having a 18 foot stone they had and 18 inch stone which was in danger of being crushed by a dwarf.

An arrangement of stones in Wiltshire in the south of England (near Salisbury), that was built by pagans years and years ago before they had trucks etc to carry the rocks. According to superstition anyone who has tried to move or remove the stones has died. Also supposedly you can't count them.
Lots of tourists go there every year and there is a talking guide thing (on headsets) that you can listen to as you walk around. Also they have pagan festivals like Summer Solstice there every year.

A megalithic monument on Salisbury Plain in Wiltshire. Completed in several constructional phases from c.2950 BC, it is composed of a circle of sarsen stones surrounded by a bank and ditch and enclosing a circle of smaller bluestones. Within this inner circle is a horseshoe arrangement of five trilithons with the axis aligned on the midsummer sunrise, an orientation that was probably for ritual purposes.
