A striped racer, also known as the California whipsnake, is a species of non-venomous snake native to the coast and foothills of California. It is a long, slender, and fast-moving snake, identified by its distinctive stripes running down the length of its body. They primarily feed on lizards and small rodents. The scientific name for this species is Masticophis lateralis.

Routine competition in Synchronized Swimming. A competition may consist of a minimum of two sections: figures, technical and free routines. There are three events: solo duet and teams. When a figure section is included each swimmers score is carried forward to the free routine section. In technical and free routines, the scores are added together. A team may consist of at least four and not more than eight swimmers. For each swimmer less than eight, a half-point deduction is made during routines.
