The fruit of a tree native to China (Nephelium Litchi). It isnutlike, having a rough but tender shell, containing an aromaticpulp, and a single large seed. Litchi in the soapberry family, Sapindaceae. It is a tropical and subtropical fruit tree native to southern China, Taiwan and Southeast Asia, and now cultivated in many parts of the world.
A wide ray of health benifits: Litchi is oval, heart-shaped or nearly round, measures about 3–5 cm long and 3 cm in diameter and weigh about 10 g. In appearance, the fruit has close resemblances with longan and rambutan fruits.
