Jackson, officially the City of Jackson, is the capital of and the most populous city in the U.S. state of Mississippi. The city is also one of two county seats of Hinds County, along with Raymond. The city had a population of 153,701 at the 2020 census, down from 173,514 at the 2010 census. Jacksons population declined more between 2010 and 2020 (11.42%) than any major city in the United States. Jackson is the anchor for the Jackson metropolitan statistical area, the largest metropolitan area completely within the state. With a 2020 population estimated around 600,000, metropolitan Jackson is home to over one-fifth of Mississippis population. The city sits on the Pearl River and is located in the greater Jackson Prairie region of Mississippi.
Founded in 1821 as the site for a new state capital, the city is named after General Andrew Jackson, who was honored for his role in the Battle of New Orleans during the War of 1812 and later served as U.S. president. Following the nearby Battle of Vicksburg in 1863 during the American Civil War, Union forces under the command of General William Tecumseh Sherman began the siege of Jackson and the city was subsequently burned.During the 1920s, Jackson surpassed Meridian to become the most populous city in the state following a speculative natural gas boom in the region. The current slogan for the city is The City with Soul. It has had numerous musicians prominent in blues, gospel, folk, and jazz. The city is located in the deep south halfway between Memphis and New Orleans on Interstate 55 and Dallas and Atlanta on Interstate 20. Being at this location has given the city the nickname the crossroads of the south.
The city has a number of museums and cultural institutions, including the Mississippi Childrens Museum, Mississippi Museum of Natural Science, Mississippi Civil Rights Museum, Mississippi Museum of Art, Old Capital Museum, Museum of Mississippi History. Other notable locations are the Mississippi Coliseum and the Mississippi Veterans Memorial Stadium, home of the Jackson State Tigers Football Team.
The Jackson metropolitan statistical area is the states second largest metropolitan area overall, due to four counties in northern Mississippi being part of the Memphis, Tennessee metropolitan area. In 2020, the Jackson metropolitan area held a GDP of 30 billion dollars, accounting for 29% of the states total GDP of 104.1 billion dollars.
Constantinople
-
Capital of the Byzantine Empire. Was established as New Rome by Constantine the Great in the 4th century A.D. (The Byzantine Empire was actually the Greek-speaking Eastern half of the Ancient Roman Empire, which offically fell in 476 A.D., with the deposition of Romulus Augustus.)Constantinople became the center of Orthodox Christianity after the Great Schism of 1054. Constaninople was sacked in 1204 by Western invaders during the 4th crusade, who then established the Latin Empire. Even though Constantinople was retaken by its rightful owners in 1261, it never again regained its former glory. The weakened city was taken by the opportunistic Ottomans less than 200 years later, in 1453. Now in a state of disarray, the city of Constantinople is called Istanbul by its Ottoman occupants. It is understood by most and argued by many that Constantinople is the rightful property of Greece. It is the opinion of many that the Turkish government should give back what wasnt theirs to take in the first place.

-
Proper Name for a City on the Bosporus Straits between Europe and Asia. Under occupation by Muslim invaders for more than 600 years now. At the hands of these captives, it is and has been the site of racist anti-Christian Pogroms, Genocide, and government-sanctioned looting and destruction of property of any and all of the Christian churches there. Proper ownership of this city would either go to the Hellenic Republic (Greece), possibly Rossiya, the Russian Orthodox Church, or The Eastern (Greek) Orthodox Church. If the English and French were not dumbasses, Imperial Russia would have finished off the Ottoman dogs in the 17th or 18th Century, but leave it to those French Toads and English Twits to screw everything up. Wait to go England and France, if it wasnt for your selfish ends, you could have saved many Christians! How arbitrary is this, when the Greeks go for Independence, the English and the British assholes decide to help Russia achieve her ultimate goal of a free Christian eastern europe.

-
A city which is currently under the custody of Turkey (since it has been besieged by the Ottomans in the 1400s) but in fact belongs to Greece (Hellenic Republic).
Constaninople is erroneously called Istanbul by the Turks (at least, thats how they call it). It is the capital of the Eastern Orthodox Religion, since centuries ago.
Constantinople will soon be captured by Russia, and this will happen because of the big disputes between Europe and Turkey (thus Turkey will no more have control of it) and then it will once again be given to its original owner (the Hellenic Republic, or Greece).Constantinople meaning & definition 3 of Constantinople.

The name for a city which existed 600 years ago, and after being captured by the Ottoman Turks, is now called Istanbul. Despite the Greek beliefs that Istanbul is rightfully theirs, this is not true as the Ottomans rightfully won it, with no cheating etc. It is now by right belonging to Turkey. Greeks should stop dreaming that Russia will capture it back for them.
