A striped racer, also known as the California whipsnake, is a species of non-venomous snake native to the coast and foothills of California. It is a long, slender, and fast-moving snake, identified by its distinctive stripes running down the length of its body. They primarily feed on lizards and small rodents. The scientific name for this species is Masticophis lateralis.

By marking an X, they signified either a safe house, gathering place, or the like. X is the character for the Greek letter Chi which was the first letter of Jesus name in Greek.
To say that xmas may have no religious value today is perhaps true, but ironic becasue xmas and Chirstmas are literally one in the same.
