It is an offensive term used against the people from Central America (Guatemala, El Salvador, [Honduras])
The people from those countries speak a vulgar type of Spanish and use the word [cerote] (turd) in every sentence. They even use it against their children and parents. [The res] of Latinos know Central Americans as cerotes.
