The state with the biggest identity crisis in America. Parts of it like DC and Baltimore are extremely ghetto, with two of the top 5 murder rates in the country. Balto is the heroine capital of the world. Suburbs like Potomac are Bethesda are among the richest and most well educated in the country, and populated by lawyers and doctors with preppy rich children who drive Benzs. To the far west, you have the type of hicks that live in West Virginia up in the Appalachian mountains. To the south and the east you have the kind of hicks you might find in Mississippi. In Ocean City you have retired people who decided to go live on the beach. Around the bay area, you have a lot of fisherman. Maryland may be mixed up, but the crabs are damn good.

Im from Maryland. Were not from the South, nor do we have an accent. Were also not New England, were the Mid Atlantic. Its soda, not pop. Its a sub, not a hoagie. Its the beach not the shore and we drink water not Wooder. Its acceptable to say where yall goin? in short of where are you going? Its pizza not pie. Its DC not Washington. We know what bad traffic really looks like, how to use a traffic circle, and how to pump our own gas. We know what and where the Naval Academy is. Its not unusual to eat at a resturant with no shirts, no shoes, and your boat parked out front. We love crabs, corn, and beer. There is no place like it.

There is basically nothing in america that wont also be found in maryland. we have the rich and the poor, farmland, beaches, cities, oceans, and bays, republicans and democrats, anything you name it. We have the orioles and the ravens who kick butt most of the time. Baltimore, which might as well be the capital, is the stronghold of maryland. in baltimore you will notice an accent that is different from the rest of the people in maryland cause yes we do say stuff like wooder instead of water. o yea, and if you live in maryland and dont eat the famous crabs, you are considered to be weird. in short, maryland is the best state to live in if you want to experience america.

Has one of the countrys largest metro areas (Baltimore-Washington corridor), one of the larger public universities in the country (UMD), and once proud sports franchises (Orioles). Has a dual identity, as its both a Mid-Atlantic state and a Southern state, because its south of the Mason-Dixon Line.

This quote from Wedding Crashers is very accurate, however, it is more lacrosse that Maryland does rather than football.
Maryland is full of extremely rich people as well as poor people. It is the home of Baltimores beautiful suburbs and its horrible ghetto as well as the very prestigious suburbs of Washington D.C.
Rural Maryland exists far out from the cities and their suburbs- very far out. It consists of many beautiful farms with acres of land and many large homes for those people who want to live far from the city. Southern Maryland contains most of the rural areas, however, right next to the bay is hardly farms, but more bay houses and neighborhoods. On the eastern side of Maryland across the bay, besides the beautiful bay homes, there is lots of land and farming, lots of sailing, and lots of crabs.
Maryland is also the lacrosse capital of the world. All over Maryland breeds unbelievably talented lacrosse players- both male and female. The many public and private schools all over Maryland have extremely good lacrosse programs and players from Maryland schools often go play at the top Division One teams.
Maryland is the home of Baltimores extremely beautiful suburbs as well as Baltimores very corrupt ghetto in the city. The suburbs of Baltimore consist many extremely good private schools- many of which are single-sex. These schools also have the best high school lacrosse programs in the country. Some of the well-known schools include: St. Pauls School for Girls, St. Pauls School for Boys, Gilman, Roland Park, Bryn Mawr, Loyola Blakefield, Maryvale Prep, Garrison Forest, McDonough, Friends School, Boys Latin, and many, many more. The suburbs of Baltimore are also filled with beautiful homes with lots of land and very cute neighborhoods. People live right next to the happening city or further out for more beautiful homes.
Maryland is also the home to the very prestigious suburb of Washington D.C.- Montgomery County, MD. Some of the well-known suburbs of Montgomery County are Bethesda, Potomac, and Chevy Chase- where very rich people live right next to Washington D.C.
Montgomery County contains one of the best public school systems in the United States. It also has some of the best and most famous private schools in America.
Many of these prestigious private schools are single-sex. Many of the highly reguarded ones include: Georgetown Prep, Stone Ridge, The Landon School, Holton-Arms, St. Albans (DC), National Cathedral (DC), St. Andrews, The Bullis School, The Potomac School, Sidwell Friends (DC), Georgetown Day School(DC), and Georgetown Visitation(DC).
Bethesda, MD is also known as the most educated town in America.
Maryland is the home of the Chesapeake Bay. The Eastern Shore of Maryland is a beautiful place to own a house on the Bay. One of the most famous places to have a home on the Chesapeake Bay is St. Michaels, MD on the Eastern Shore. There are many cute towns on the bay known for their sailing and ovcourse their crabs.
Annapolis is the capital of Maryland and it is a very cute, small city on the Bay not far south of Baltimore and not far east of Washington D.C. This is where many of the sailing takes place and it is a beautiful place to own a home on the water. Severna Park is a well-known suburb of Annapolis just 10 minutes away and is placed on the Severn River.

The state motto is the Free State and everyone loves the Baltimore crabs.
The state consists of the mountainous west and the hickish east while the Baltimore-Washington Corridor keeps the state up from a poor/hickfilled future.

A cute little state, you usually dont look at it first on the map. We arent super southern, though 75% of the inhabitants think we are, and we arent too northern. And due to common misconceptions, we do have accents, it all depends which part youre in, or if you just moved here. Some say things like [Warshington] or [wooder] and we round out words, like Baldamore instead of Baltimore. And most of us dont say the D in Maryland. If you notice the way most poorly educated school children talk, they talk extremely fast, verbally tripping over their words. Maryland school children dont know what a school district is, because [Marylands] school systems are by county. The teenagers in small towns have their local hangouts, and their [code names] for their towns. Maryland has historical places, and ghettos. Majority is white, but we have places where theres lots of blacks, a few Hispanics, especially in Montgomery county. Most the whites reside in Carroll and Frederick county. All Marylanders know that [PG county] is the ghetto. The vacationing spot everyone goes to is Ocean City, where the kids wait and go to [Senior Week], and get busted with possession of alcohol under the age of 21. Maryland also has their beloved state troopers. Frederick is the largest county in Maryland, probably because its all farmland. Maryland is a pretty cool place to live, and its not all boring. Come visit us, we love company! Come eat our [blue crabs]. !
