Pertaining to, derived from, or designating, a complex acidcalled nitroprussic acid, obtained indirectly by the action of nitricacid on potassium ferrocyanide (yellow prussiate), as a redcrystalline unstable substance. It forms salts called nitroprussides,which give a rich purple color with alkaline subphides.
