A turban is a type of headwear based on cloth winding. Featuring many variations, it is worn as customary headwear by people of various cultures. Communities with prominent turban-wearing traditions can be found in the Indian subcontinent, Southeast Asia, the Arabian Peninsula, the Middle East, the Balkans, the Caucasus, Central Asia, North Africa, West Africa, East Africa, and amongst some Turkic peoples in Russia as well as Ashkenazi Jews.

Turbans are a traditional garment worn by men in some Middle Eastern countries, such as Iran and Afghanistan. They consist of a long, flowing robe worn over the head and body. The turban is often worn as a symbol of religious devotion or to show respect for elders. In some cases, the turban is also worn as a form of protection from the sun or to show off ones wealth. The turban is often made of cotton or other lightweight materials and may be decorated with colorful embroidery or other decorative elements.
