Person who applies functional or artistic rope bondage (sometimes referred to as human macramé) to another persons body for photographic, performance, artistic, educational, spiritual, or sexual purposes.

The term is thought to originate from the nautical world and has strong associations with rope, knots, and suspension. Other forms of restraint may also be used; such as fabric, leather and steel.

Rigger is sometimes thought to be a more technical term than the more artistic rope top, while remaining less pretentious than the japanese inspired term nawashi.

A person that hooks heavy material to cranes using wire slings, hooks, chains, and straps. This peson must be skillful and knowledgeble. If done improperly, loads will fall, buildings will crumble pick up trucks will be impaled with steel beams, and people may DIE!!!! get the picture? Riggers dont appear to be the sharpest tools in the shed. Most dont know textbook algebra, but they can tell you what a 5/8 choker can lift at a 60 degree angle. Riggers give hand signals to cranes that fly the material through the air. Contrary to popular urban belief that riggers take it up the ass, I think if you tried to mount a true rigger, you would find a nice piece of red iron sitting where your front seat used to be....
