Dimebag Darrel was a great metal guitarist.
But hes not the virtuoso that the media is making him out to be now that hes been shot to death. Pinch harmonics, fast pentatonic solos, whammy bar dives, killer riffs. Hes an awesome metal guitarist, but Id be lying if I said hes one of the best players Ive ever heard.
Also, I know its supposed to be about the music and not about the image, but the number of posers that have been latching onto Pantera/Damageplan now that hes dead is really annoying. Because Pantera was all about going against the mainstream... the real Pantera fans know what Im talking about
