Stems from Patrick Dempseys character Dr Sheppherd in TVs awesome series Greys Anatomy, other definitions have made him out to be a bit of a bad guy but hes not. Hes just been dealt some bad cards!

This is a very overused, shallow nickname the pathetic, hopelessly desperate main character Meredith (played by Ellen Pompeo) gives him from the beginning of the show. Of course, Mcdreamy is married and he doesnt tell her this even though they date. Anywho, any chick fan of Greys watches the show only for him, which quite frankly makes me wanna hurl.
