Unfortunately to all of the educated people conversate is now in the dictionary.

      v. to socialize and chat; to converse with another

It is still classified as slang, but it is in the dictionary. Trust me Im just as upset as you are.

Is a word that is supposed to be a verb deriving from a mutation of converse and conversation. It is in the dictionary as non-standard except in some dialects.
Some may believe this entry in the dictionary gives the word validity. It doesnt. Any slang or bastardized word embraced by popular culture could end up in the dictionary with this definition. That in no way means that it is a legitimate word.
From the same school as irregardless or aint. An example was given above to attempt to legitimize this word by quoting rap songs. Ridiculous. Is Sizzurp a real English word too?

The word Conversate is formed through a process in etymology known as back-formation. Many literary geniuses of their time used back- formation such as but not limited to Shakespeare.

Also many common and accepted words in both English and other languages all over the world contain common words that are formed through back formation.

Many ignorant individuals could learn a thing or two by studying up on both the word conversate, and other back-formations before criticizing and making a generalization about a word and the people who choose to use it.

              Past tense

While conversate is technically an accepted synonym for converse, the verb tends to be favored by members of the population with IQs that are generally well below average. This typically includes gangsta rappers, graffiti artists, and short, bald-headed asian men who work in the finance field, but believe themselves to be thuggish.
