A common misspelling and mispronounciation of the Japanese method of ritual suicide ([seppuku]) known as Hara-Kiri, meaning to cut or slice the stomach or abdomen.
It was part of the ([Samurai]) code of honour ([Bushido]) and practiced amongst the warrior class. -
To commit suicide, especially by dispatching ones self with a blade.
To off ones self in a passionate fit of rage.
An intentional act of self-destruction.

To impale ones self through the stomach, next to the spine, and to finish by pulling the blade through your side, therefore cutting off your main chi or energy channel. The purpose of which is to kill yourself with no hope of surviving.
