One who believes that it is impossible to prove whether a supreme being (or a God) exists or not. An individualist who has finally realised that the statement Billions of mindless drones cant be wrong is bull.

By strict definition, it means without knowledge, refering to deities. That is, an agnostic does not claim to have any definite knowledge of the existance of deities/a deity.
It is often said that agnosticism is a stepping stone to atheism. There is truth to this, as often the transition from theism to atheism is travelled through agnosticism. However, this is not the only form of agnosticism. Agnosticism can also develop as a rejection of both atheism and theism, for a number of reasons. All three discuss divinity in different ways, so it is foolish to say that agnosticism is simply a stepping stone to atheism, or undecided secularism.

        1. Strictly, someone who believes that it is impossible to know whether or not God exists. Note that they may still be either an [atheist] or a [theist], they simply do not believe it is possible to prove beyond all doubt that God does or does not exist.
        2. Someone who neither believes fully that God exists nor that s/he does not exist. This is the more common usage. Note that such a person can be neither an [atheist] or a [theist].

A person that doesnt believe in anything. They dont know if God does or doesnt exist, and they dont let it bother them.
Contrary to some of the other bullshit definations on here, they arent indicisive cowards or pussies. Dont let some fuckhead convince you otherwise.

I do not consider it an insult, but rather a compliment to be called an agnostic. I do not pretend to know where many ignorant men are sure - that is all that agnosticism means.

Someone who would like proof of God before devoting their whole life to him/her, but acknowledges that there is a possibility God exists. They often believe that people who state either yes or no are too close-minded.

Someone who finds his life [meaningful] enough to [pursue]; without admitting or dismissing [a God], and tolerant enough to respect either ways as a possible answer.

Litteraly meaning a lack of claim to knowlege. Generaly is refering to a lack of claim to knowelge about the possible existance of god(s).
One can be an [agnostic theist]. Meaning that while they personally believe in a god they are open to the idea that they could be wrong. Or an [agnostic atheist] who personally believes there is no god(s) but also admits they have no real way of knowing the truth.
The term agnostic is ment to be used in conjunction with the words theist or atheist but will often be used as a stand alone deffinition of ones beliefs. [Agnostics] will often be split in the middle of these two phiolsophys.
Is the opposite of gnostic- meaning a claim to knowlege.

One who is neither ignorant enough to believe that [there is a god], nor self centered enough to believe that if there was a god, he would [give a flying fuck] about what they do on sundays, what they [eat on] fridays, and what kind of facial hair they have.
