(n) Derogatory term for slovenly nerdy people who have no sense of hygene or grooming. Often related to hobbies such as card gaming, video gaming, anime, et. al.

[Couch Potatoe]

Talkative, self-important nerdy men (usually age 30 and up) who, through an inability to properly decode social cues, mistake others strained tolerance of their blather for evidence of their own charm.

A socially inept individual. Smug/self-important for no reason, or shy unless with fellow Neckbeards. When spoken to, will quickly reveal extremely limited social experience. To a normal person they will be definitively near-autistic or aspy.
Visual cues:

Fedora.

Greasy hair
Ponytail.
Acne at any age.
Dyed hair.
Shitty beard.
Pedostache.
Wears all black.
Wears all red.
Odd eye behavior, similar to low self esteem (avoiding, darting, or over-compensational staring).
Hand placement. Instead of pockets, usually leave them at sides or cross them.

-inflated, hollow self esteem
-will laugh at things that arent very funny
-are or were obese
-educated slightly better than the average person
-will NOT understand the Neckbeard concept

-board games
-conventions
-bronie
-hasnt bathed in days, and if you get close, you can confirm, but if you do they will think youre making a sexual pass at them and excrete more stench.
Neckbeards are often found in acting, chior, or other socially maladjusted arts.
The majority of Neckbeards come from middle class white America. Lower class learned how to live while young, and upper class doesnt have the time to, or has better things to do than be a pile of shit.

Often smelling of cheetos, Mountain Dew, and depression, the average neckbeard can be found playing World of Warcraft in their mothers basement. Along with their very poor grooming, the average neckbeard often be categorized as being morbidly obese.
