Valerianaceae is a family of flowering plants that includes about 20 genera and over 200 species. It includes herbs, shrubs, and occasionally trees, which are native to temperate regions worldwide. The flowers are typically small with five petals, and the leaves are generally opposite or alternate. Some species in this family produce fruits containing a single seed. Many members of the Valerianaceae family are used as ornamental plants or are used in traditional medicine and herbal remedies.

        ⁕Centranthus
        ⁕Fedia
        ⁕Nardostachys
        ⁕Patrinia
        ⁕Plectritis
        ⁕Valeriana
        ⁕Valerianella
