Red Sandalwood, scientifically known as Pterocarpus santalinus, is a type of tree native to India. It is highly valued for its rich, red-colored timber and is often used in traditional medicine. Its wood is extremely hard and is commonly used in woodworking for carving and furniture. The red color from the wood is also used as a dye. Due to its rarity and high demand, it is considered an endangered species and its trade is heavily regulated.
