Switch-ivy, also known as Hedera helix or common ivy, is a species of flowering plant in the family Araliaceae, native to most of Europe and western Asia. It is a climbing, evergreen plant that grows on trees, buildings, and even on ground level. It is known for its ability to rapidly spread, and is commonly used for ground cover or decorative purposes. The plant has dark, glossy, green leaves and produces small, yellow-green flowers followed by black berries.
