Giriama is one of the nine ethnic groups that make up the Mijikenda (which literally translates to nine towns) in Kenya. They are primarily located in the coastal region of the country. The Giriama are known for their traditional dances, vibrant ceremonies, spirit possession cults, and skilled craftsmanship in pottery, basketry, and house construction.
