a person who is not interested in or does not desire sexual activity, either within or outside of a relationship. asexuality is not the same as celibacy, which is the willful decision to not act on sexual feelings. asexuals, while not physically sexual-type folks, are none the less quite capable of loving, affectionate, romantic ties to others.

      There are two general meanings.

The absence of a sexuality, most notably in humans. Some may just not be sexuallly attracted to others, otehrs may completely lack a sex drive or sexual desires. Common misconceptions are that such people have suffered sexual abuse, are emotionally frigid, are closet homosexuals, masturbate ten times a day, are too ugly to get in a sexual relationship or are impotent. This, more often than not, does not apply.

Without sexual intercourse. For example, cells (be it nerve cells, bacteria or other protozoa such as amoeba) reproduce via mitosis (or dividing) as opposed to sexual reproduction. The result tends to be two cells of exactly the same genetic structure as the parent

An asexual is an individual who is is not sexually attracted to either men or women. Important classifications to note:
Repulsed Asexuals: Asexuals that are opposed to the idea of having sex with any other individual. Some may masturbate to release any sexual tension, though some even find masturbation repulsive.
Flexible Asexuals: Asexuals that are more open to the idea of having sex and may be willing to have sex for the benefit of a sexual partner. Some flexible asexuals may even enjoy having sex.
Aromantic Asexuals: Asexuals who have little or no romantic drive. They usually prefer to be single. Some even never experience crushes. Aromantic asexuals are usually repulsed asexuals.
Romantic Asexuals: Asexuals who have a romantic drive and often have a desire to find a significant other. Romantic asexuals can be either flexible or repulsed. Flexible ones are usually willing to date sexuals and asexuals, repulsed ones usually prefer to date other asexuals when possible. Romantic asexuals are split into a few subcategories.
Hetero-Romantic Asexuals: Asexuals who are EMOTIONALLY attracted to individuals of the opposite gender.
Homo-Romantic Asexuals: Asexuals who are EMOTIONALLY attracted to individuals of the same gender.
Bi-Romantic Asexuals: Asexuals who are EMOTIONALLY attracted to individuals of the same gender and the opposite gender.
Pan-Romantic Asexuals: Asexuals who are EMOTIONALLY attracted to individuals of all genders.

Someone who doesn't experience sexual attraction. Often confused with autosexual (sexually attracted to oneself), asexual reproduction (when organisms can reproduce without sex), celibacy/abstinence (the choice not to have sex). Asexuals may or may not be romantically attracted to others, and may or may not have a sex drive (though not directed towards anyone or anything).

Asexuality is not a choice, and you cannot decide to become one. They are just born that way, the same way as people are straight, gay, bi, or whatever.

The lack of any sexual drive. With this sexuality, you can stare at women right in the face. Yes, I know, It's amazing to be one.

asexual is a natural occuring instance in the brain. like bieng gay or lesbian or strait. most people are confused by this when you tell them; because they cant grasp the concept of someone not having any sexual interest, but it doesn't mean you can't love someone. even though they still have a sex drive they wish to refuse it; because they dont see anyone that they would like to have sexual relations with. as of wanting a child in a relationship artificial incimination can be an option. calling your self asexual doesnt mean you cant masterbate, but only to masterbate to lower that sexual tention inside the persons mind. even though this is possible for both sexes. more common in females(from my own observation), but also occuring in a few males, and if any of you have taken a phych class you know the build up of horimones in a male body without any release builds up and ends up in a situation to put in laymen's terms blue

In human terms someone who experiences no sexual attraction to anyone or anything. Some are completely devoid of sexuality, while some have a sex drive where attraction is not a factor, if they masturbate it is only a physical act with no attraction or 'sexual' thoughts
Is a very rare and strange sexual orientation

The purest definition of [asexual], is literally anti sexual. This means that they neither want or need [sexual contact] with another person to feel fulfilled.

However, some asexuals [do want] or even like sexual contact with their romantic partners. However, 95% of the time, it is solely for the benefit of their partners as many dislike sex or find little to no pleasure in the activity.

As an asexual myself, Ive seen many misconceptions about this term. [Asexuality] is not a [homogeneous] category . Although I dont speak for all asexuals and this isnt an exhaustive list, Ill hope to give more insights to this term since its only been recently known to the scientific world.
According to [Aven], an asexual is a person who does not experience sexual attraction. Thats it. Thats all.
There are common misconceptions about [asexuality]:

Asexuals dont like sex: Some dont want sex. But some enjoy having sex for the pure pleasure of having sex itself.

Asexuality is [just a phase]/a choice: No, its an orientation. People who identify as asexuals were born that way.

You will never be in a relationship: There are many different types of asexuals in the world. No matter what, love is the main thing in a relationship for any sexual orientation.

Theres something wrong with you: Theres nothing wrong with them. Asexuals are just as capable as anyone to lead and maintain a good, happy, and healthy life.
