Someone who is leading multiple members of the opposite sex on at the same time so they always have someone there. Either semi-romantically or just to have someone to fuck if someone else falls through. A bread-crumber often makes each one of their [hopeful] contestants feel special but doesnt give a shit about any of them once they have actually [lured] one into their bed/arms. Different than a player because they throw out crumbs [Hansel and Gretel] style and dont waste time trying to keep up multiple actual relationships.
