Haemophilus influenzae type b (Hib) vaccines help prevent Haemophilus#160;infections but not infections caused by other strains of H. influenzae bacteria. H. influenzae causes many childhood infections, including bacteremia, meningitis, pneumonia, sinusitis, otitis media, and epiglottitis.
