Arabesque

A style of ornamentation either painted, inlaid, or carved inlow relief. It consists of a pattern in which plants, fruits,foliage, etc., as well as figures of men and animals, real orimaginary, are fantastically interlaced or put together.

Arabesque in Womens Gymnastics. A gymnast takes two steps before stretching forward to complete a jump forward an arch. She will then cross-step over with a quarter turn and continue to turn until she has completed a half turn.
