Icing the puck in Ice Hockey. Occurs when a player shoots the puck from his own half of the ice into the opposing end zone and it is then touched by a defending player other than the goalkeeper. Once the defending player touches the puck, play is halted and a face off occurs in the half of the ice from which the puck was shot.
