Conscious Neuroplastic Mediation ([CNM]) was created by James LaFerla in 2008 and is considered to be the next [step in] human evolution. It is described in his best-selling book “Conscious Neuroplastic Mediation: The Next [Step in] the Evolution of Human Consciousness” (2018).
CNM is not another form of psychology or therapy, but rather an educational process where one learns to use focused attention to overcome any [dysfunctional] habitual [conditioning] they experienced as a child and begin to [think-feel] instead of [feel-think]. Whereas psychology believes in, and deals primarily with, people’s chronic negative emotions, CNM does not believe in these recurring unhappy feelings.
CNM is founded on the idea that human beings learn by feeling rather than objective reasoning. This type of learning can be, and often is, dysfunctional. For instance, a child may grow up in an environment with a parent that makes them feel frequently fearful and then generalizes this feeling in life feeling fearful of others without ever understanding why. Or a child who grows up with racist parents and just by association becomes a bigot themselves, never for a moment realizing what awful thing has happened to them. The important thing to realize is that in each case the child in question was conditioned without their having a choice, it just happened. All of this type of childhood conditioning results in what is called [Feel-think].
