An order of wingless hexapod insects which have setiform caudalappendages, either bent beneath the body to form a spring, orprojecting as bristles. It comprises the Cinura, or bristletails, andthe Collembola, or springtails. Called also Thysanoura. See Lepisma,and Podura.
