Pregnancy is the state of being pregnant, which occurs when a woman becomes fertilized and carries the developing fetus. It is a period of time when the female body undergoes significant changes to prepare for and support the growth of a fetus. During pregnancy, there are several stages of development that occur in the mothers body, including implantation of a fertilized egg into the uterus, placenta formation and function, fetal development in the uterus, and birth of a healthy baby. Pregnancy is an exciting and unique time for both the mother and baby, but it is important to take care of oneself and seek medical attention if necessary.
