Pertaining to, or derived from the combination of, hydrogen andcyanogen. Hydrocyanic acid (Chem.), a colorless, mobile, volatileliquid, HCN, having a characteristic peach-blossom odor. It is one ofthe most deadly poisons. It is made by the action of sulphuric acidon yellow prussiate of potassium (potassium ferrocyanide), andchemically resembles hydrochloric and hydrobromic acids. Called alsoprussic acid, hydrogen cyanide, etc.
