Virginia is, by far, one of the best states in the Union. Virginia has a rich history, being home to many of the early presidents, the site of the first permanant English settlement in the New World, and contains Yorktown where the American Revolution ended. Virginia makrs the Northern edge of the South, and was home of the Confederate Capitol and the best army of the CSA, the Army of Northern Virginia comanded by Robert E. Lee. Virginia has some of the best colleges in the United States. Climate is moderate with teperatures rarely going above 100 in the summer or below 20 in the winter. Snow is uncommon in this state. Virginia is home ot a large amount of military.

Someone who is extremely smart and mature for her age. Typically a blonde haired blue-eyed girl with high expectations. Mostly quiet and reserved, but is worth the extra effort to get to know. Finds almost everything funny and is always smiling. She's understanding and is constantly putting others first.

First of all, 12 year olds like the kid above me make us look bad, (trust me, he's an exception to the rule). Virginia contains a wealth of history, especially in the eastern part of the state. In Norfolk we house the largest naval base in the world, which unfortunately, makes us the biggest nuclear strike target in the world. The military is the key economic factor in the eastern part of the state. They've tried to clean up the resort area in VA Beach, with limited success. Decent surf is brought to our shores in the winter time, stomach-chest high on a good day. I wouldn't recommend going past Richmond unless you'll be staying on the interstate, God only knows what goes on there. In summary, it's a hell of a lot better than [Indiana].

Also known as the Might of the South, because it was the only state to actually do anything in the civil war (Best Army and Generals, home of 2 of 3 southern capitals Richmond and the last capital Danville). Virginia is not a mid-atlantic state. Mid-Atlantic states include -Pennsylvania,Delaware,marylarnd, and Rhode Island. Virginia is full of rich forest, never ending streams and huntable wildlife. Virginia is also a very divided state, Nothern - Kerry Votes, Liberals and homosexuals and Mid to Southern - Bush Votes, Conservitives. Virginia has been a Red state, like the rest of the south, since the 1960s.

Located in the American southeast, Virginia is the birthplace of the United States Of America. Not to be confused with Tenessee, Virginia is the birthplace of Country music and Southern culture and most of the modern South's populations have ancestors that are from Virginia. The state's first song, which was written by a former slave, was Carry Me Back To Ol' Virginny but is not used anymore due to it's offensive lyrics against African Americans, A second song has yet to be written. The state's flag was adopted during the Civil war to show resistance against the Union North, which Virginians saw as tyrants. The old or ol' dominion is the state's nickname.
Northern Virginians are exactly that and do not identify with Central and Southern Virginia but tend to have more in common with D.C. and [Maryland]. Northern Virginans for the most part do not have native accents due to most of them being originally from the north and mid-west, some elderly northern virginians will have an accent. Most Central/Eastern Virginans have the famous tidewater accent, a refined faster spoken southern accent and use words such as Hoose for House. Most Southern and South Western Virginians have the Thickest of the Accents which out of state people may have a hard time understanding. Northern Virginia is regionally different being considered the southern most section of the mid-atlantic and will have snow while Central and southern virginia will have rain as well as typical southern plants and palm trees. The state's motto is Virginia is for lovers but Virginia has approved a gay marriage ban, which Northern Virginia strongly was against. Northern Virginia will most likely become it's own state or something of the sort in the future. If you want to experiance American/Confederate history, Virginia is a great place to do it.

The Commonwealth of Virginia is a southern state with a highly diverse population. The inhabitants are largely technocrats, rednecks and otakus, or some combination thereof. Northern Virginia tends to identify more with DC than the Commonwealth as it is the home of the civil servants and bureaucrats that run the federal government. Although distinct regions have their own identities, people of all types listed above can be found all over the State.
The Commonwealth was an important player in national politics for the first 100 years of the USA’s existence, being the birthplace of several notable Presidents and other national leaders. In the Civil War, Virginia joined the Confederacy and became the site of many of the war’s most important battles and the Confederate capital.
Today, Virginia is part of the South that is rising again, at least in terms of high-tech industry.
