The term boiler originated from 'back boilers' used in old houses. If a woman is a 'boiler' then she keeps you warm at night so long as you give her a good poke every now and again!

A boiler refers to an unattractive older woman who is only good for the pot, as in having to cook an old chook in boiling water to make it tender and more eatable. The expression old chook also refers to a boiler and can be used in the same context.

Boiler is a song by the American rap rock band Limp Bizkit. It was released in November 2001 as the fifth and final single from their third studio album Chocolate Starfish and the Hot Dog Flavored Water. Guitar World described the song as an old-school, L. L. Cool J.-style rap ballad. There was a limited edition Gold numbered version of this single that includes DVD music videos from the band. The music video was directed by Dave Meyers and Fred Durst, and filmed in Portugal. The song peaked at 30 on Modern Rock charts.

(approximate definition) A fuel burning apparatus in which water is boiled to produce steam for space heating, power generation, or industrial processes. (more precisely) An apparatus in which a heat source other than a hot liquid or steam (most commonly burning fuel, exhaust gas from an internal combustion engine or gas turbine, waste heat from a process, solar energy or electricity) is used to boil water (or rarely another liquid), under pressure to provide steam (or other gas) for use as a heat source in calorifiers, heat exchangers or heat emitters, or for use directly for humidification, in an industrial process, or to power steam turbines.
