The title Duc de Richelieu is French for the Duke of Richelieu, a noble title that originates in France. The most well-known Duc de Richelieu was Armand-Jean du Plessis, better known as Cardinal Richelieu (1585–1642), who served as the chief minister to Louis XIII. Though he was a cardinal and not a duke himself, his descendants held on to the title, and it was used by various family members throughout history.
