Megaderma Lyra, commonly known as the Greater False Vampire Bat or Indian False Vampire Bat, is a species of bat in the family Megadermatidae. This bat species is native to South Asia and Southeast Asia, and is also present in the Maldives and Sri Lanka. They are primarily insectivorous, but are also known to consume small vertebrates. Like other megadermatid bats, they have large ears and eyes, and a leaf-like projection on their nose used for echolocation. Despite their namesake, they do not feed on blood.
