Paroicous is a term used in bryology (the study of mosses, liverworts, and hornworts) to refer to plants where the male and female reproductive organs are present on the same plant, but separate from each other. This is opposed to monoicous plants where the male and female organs are on the same plant and close together, and dioicous plants where the male and female organs are on separate plants.
