Contrary to popular belief, a [rapier] is not a light sword. [Rapier] [fencing] is actually more labor intensive than longsword fencing, since it puts more strain on the forearm. A rapier is meant for thrusting. A variant of the rapier is the sidesword, which has a [broader] blade for cutting.
