1. Point in an artists career where they go [batshit insane] and start producing very abstract/ avant-garde pieces of art.

2. Excuse used when an artist has [gone off the deep end] and/or produces sub-par works.

(Note: I dont consider [Cubism] as a whole to be subpar in any way, and I am actually quite partial to it)
