A percussion instrument made with loops of steel ball chain wrapped around textured metal on a wide cylinder with an attached handle. Usually [made of wood] or plastic. Sound is produced when the loops are scraped over the metal. Similar to the shekere, and African instrument with a net of strung beads over a [hollowed out] [gourd].
