Mojo is a noun originally used to mean a magic charm or spell or an [amulet], often in the form of a small bag containing magic items worn by adherents of [hoodoo] or [voodoo], or it could mean a [quality] or some [ability] that brings good luck or helps you be good at something. Originally from the US and associated with the music and dance culture, it has entered the English language and has also taken on an additional meaning of personal confidence and [charisma] with regard to [sexual relationships]. The word Mojo itself probably derives from [African-American] language where it refers to a personal talisman or [witchcraft] charm, and is itself derived from the word Moco used by the Gullah people meaning witchcraft or possibly from the Fula word moco’o meaning medicine man.

      = Personal magnetism
Mojo will make one seem and feel sexy, virile, appealing, invincible and in control etc.
Alcohol or love usually awakes the mojo.
When ones mojo is working, it often results in flirting and heavy socializing with the opposite sex (or whatever prefered).

That quality, often elusive, that sets a person apart from everyone else. The word magic could, almost without exception, replace mojo it in all of its contexts, sentences, and/or applications.

Mojo means your influence, confidence or personal charisma. It was originally a slang term from the US associated with the music and dance culture, but has entered the English as well as the American language and is being used more widely. It has also taken on an additional meaning of personal confidence and charisma with regard to sexual relationships. The word Mojo itself probably derives from African-American language where it refers to a personal talisman or witchcraft charm, and is itself derived from the word Moco used by the Gullah people meaning witchcraft. The word First received widespread exposure in the 1957 recording of the song Got My Mojo Working by Muddy Waters.

Derogative term created by white washed Americanized Mexicans in the DFW area for Mexican nationals who appear tacky and dirty. ”MOJO” is short for mojado, meaning wetback in Spanish.
