A person who believes water fluoridation is a conspiracy by the medical community to keep people dependent on them, and that [fluoride] promotes, rather than hinders, tooth [decay]. Fluoridation has also been said to cause a whole range of illnesses, and was once believed, by far-right-wing activists, to turn people into Communists. This last belief featured prominently as a plot point in the classic movie [Dr. Strangelove].
