noun, a term of affection for a lovable, silly, lighthearted person. Always easy to poke fun at without actually meaning harm.

The most offensive word in the English language. It is the ultimate insult that must be used sparingly. It essentially questions ones validity as a human being. The deepest facets of human nature itself are called into question and examined upfront when calling someone a goober, goob, or gooberino. As fricc is to fuck, one may also use goofball to ease the intensity of this word.

Brought by slaves to what is now the Southeastern United States, the word goober is derived from the Bantu word for peanut. In slang usage, goober derives from Goober Pyle, a character on the 1960s American TV sitcom, The Andy Griffith Show. Originally, the word referred to a dullard who hails from rural America. In everyday contemporary usage, the word is often applied to any stupid, inept or foolish person.

It means peanut, but we dont use it for talking about peanuts. When a person calls you [a goober], take it as a compliment. A [goober] is generally a funny person. The person could be odd, weird, outstanding, popular, social. When called a goober, just laugh. [Goober] is higher than weird, its nicer to be called.
Goober could also be used sarcastically. Used sarcastically could be talking towards a serious, [stuck-up], or sensitive person. If you want to [tick] someone off, be sure to call this in front of the person.

a beautiful man with personality, charm and style, relaxed and down to earth but with [exacting] high standards, outrageous sense of humor, comfortable in his own skin in all situations, a man who takes care of his looks in an old english sense of way yet still [reeking] masculine qualities, easily [approachable], yet more than a challenge to win over and keep, knows exactly who he is and possessing steel-like inner confidence in approach and attitude, always ready to take a strong lead, yet with a mysterious vulnerability making him all the more attractive to the men who want to be like him and the women who want to be with him.

(also can be called a goob)
1.a person who could very possibly be [well-meaning], but is incredibly awkward to the point of making those around him or her feel uncomfortable and twitchy.
                          2. a person who, again, may be well-meaning, but has extremely annoying personal habits that annoy the hell out of everyone.
                          examples of signs of gooberosity:
chews gum extremely loud with mouth open (not obnoxious-on-purpose, but more obnoxious-without-realizing-it); always wears pants that are slightly too short or sleeves slightly too small; often uses a rolling backpack; [squints] a lot; has trouble controlling the volume of his or her voice; interrupts others to tell uninteresting stories but doesnt realize it; often enthuastic about everything; and, the most significant goober sign: Heavy [Mouth Breather].
These signs of goobdom are not condemning a person, because [goobs] can very often be quite entertaining and cool, but have [gooby] qualities about them.
