The term Reynard (re'nurd, rā'närd) originated from Alsace-Lorraine folklore describing him as a peasant hero character achieving his cunning goals through wit and trickster-like behaviour. The Germanic origin of his name describes him as someone who is wise, clever and resourceful.
In modern use, 'Reynard' eludes to a promiscuous, guileful and opportunistic knave male (female equivalent to a Reynard is known as a Vixen) who is usually found at local 'watering holes' before conquering larger venues of the famous King's Cross strip including Soho and Phoenix using his signature cat dance move to Electronic and Tribal House genres. -
