The European Silver Fir is a species of fir tree native to Europe, scientifically known as Abies alba. It is a large evergreen coniferous tree that can grow up to 40-50m (130-165ft) tall, and occasionally even taller. The tree is characterized by a straight trunk, a symmetrical spire-like crown, needle-like leaves that are dark green on the top and silvery-white underneath, and cylindrical cones that stand erect on the branches.
