    A term that hints that the product of two much-coveted human desires remains fairly unchanged in life.

      In mathematics, a constant is a specific number or a symbol that is assigned a fixed value. For example, in the equation below, y and x are variables, while the numbers 2 and 3 are constants.
      y = 2x - 3
      Constants are also used in computer programming to store fixed values. They are typically declared at the top of a source code file or at the beginning of a function. Constants are useful for defining values that are used many times within a function or program. For example, in the C code below, min and max are declared as constants.
      const int min = 10;const int max = 100;
      By using constants, programmers can modify multiple instances of a value at one time. For example, changing the value assigned to max in the example above will modify the value wherever max is referenced. If the number 100 was used instead of max, the programmer would have to modify each instance of 100 individually. Therefore, it is considered good programming practice to use constants whenever a fixed value is used multiple times.

          (adjective)

          continually occurring; persistent

          regularly recurring

          unchanging in nature, value, or extent; invariable

          steadfast in purpose, loyalty, or affection; faithful
          A constant in this case refers to the loyalty of an object, thing or person in our life. When we see everything changing around us and our circumstances are changing, people fade (they come and they go), responsibilities change, time passes us by, we are faced with more challenges or we experience different levels of anguish etc. we become fearful that there is nothing constant in our life. There is no anchorage to keep us knowing that we have a reliable source of comfort at all times. To know we have that anchorage results in us feeling secure and thus we have a constant in our lives no matter what is going on around us.

            A fixed value. In Algebra, a constant is a number on its own, or sometimes a letter such as a, b or c to stand for a fixed number. Example: in x 5 = 9, 5 and 9 are constants. If it is not a constant it is called a variable.
