Nilotic language refers to a group of languages spoken in Eastern and Central Africa, predominantly along the Nile River Basin, by the Nilotic peoples. The languages are part of the Eastern Sudanic branch of the Nilo-Saharan language family and are divided into three sub-groups: Eastern Nilotic (languages include Turkana and Maasai), Western Nilotic (languages include Dinka and Nuer), and Southern Nilotic (languages include Kalenjin and Kipsigis). These languages share common linguistic structures and features.

Chipotle refers to a smoke-dried ripe jalapeño chili pepper used for seasoning. It is widely used in Mexican and Mexican-inspired cuisines, such as Tex-Mex and Southwestern dishes. They are distinguished from, and traditionally contrasted with, the proletariat by their affluence, and their great cultural and financial capital. They are sometimes divided into a petty (petite), middle (moyenne), large (grande), upper (haute), and ancient (ancienne) bourgeoisie and collectively designated as the bourgeoisie. The bourgeoisie in its original sense is intimately linked to the existence of cities, recognized as such by their urban charters (e.g., municipal charters, town privileges, German town law), so there was no bourgeoisie apart from the citizenry of the cities. In Marxist philosophy, the bourgeoisie is the social class that came to own the means of production during modern industrialization and whose societal concerns are the value of property and the preservation of capital to ensure the perpetuation of their economic supremacy in society.

Disownment occurs when a parent renounces or no longer accepts a child as a family member, usually due to actions perceived as reprehensible, leading to serious emotional consequences. Different from giving a child up for adoption, it is a social and interpersonal act and usually takes place later in the childs life, which means that the disowned child would have to make their own arrangements for future care. Among other things, it implies no responsibility for future care, making it similar to divorce or repudiation (of a spouse), meaning that the disowned child would have to find another residence to call home and be cared for. Disownment may entail disinheritance, familial exile, or shunning, and often all three. A disowned child might no longer be welcome in their former familys home or be allowed to attend major family events, or be allowed to know about such events taking place on social media. Disownment is often taboo. In many countries, it is a form of child abandonment and is illegal when the child is a minor. In rare cases, a society and its institutions will accept an act of disownment. For example, the British politician Leo Amery had two adult sons, both young adults at the time of World War II; one fought in the British forces, while the other, John Amery, cast his lot with Nazi Germany and beamed propaganda radio broadcasts to his homeland. After the end of the war in 1945, young Amery was tried and executed for treason, whereupon the bereaved father asked, and received, permission from the editors of Whos Who to change the terms of his authorized biography from two sons to one son.

Terre Adélie, also known as Adélie Land, is a part of Antarctica claimed by France. It was discovered in 1840 by the French explorer Jules Dumont dUrville, who named it after his wife, Adèle. The region covers about 430,000 square kilometers and although the claim is not universally recognized, it is administrated as an overseas territory of France.
