An orthopaedist, also known as an orthopedic surgeon, is a medical professional who specializes in diagnosing, treating, preventing and rehabilitating injuries, disorders and diseases of the musculoskeletal system. This includes bones, joints, ligaments, muscles, tendons and nerves. They may use surgical and non-surgical methods to treat a variety of conditions such as sports injuries, deformities, infections, tumors, and degenerative diseases like arthritis.
