The rocks of the Niagaraepoch, mostly limestones, are extensively distributed, and at NiagaraFalls consist of about eighty feet of shale supporting a greaterthickness of <a href="/topic/7334/limestone">limestone</a>, which is gradually undermined by the removalof the shale.
