Oral fluid therapy is recommended by the American Academy of <a href="/topic/36123/pediatrics">Pediatrics</a> and the WHO and should be used for children with mild to moderate dehydration who are accepting fluids orally unless prohibited by copious vomiting or underlying disorders (eg, surgical abdomen, intestinal obstruction).<br />
